Joseph was born in Apple Valley, California, but spent the majority of his early years growing up in Riverton, Wyoming. In later years, he lived in various communities throughout Central and Southern California.
Joseph received his B.A. in History with a minor in Biblical Studies from Whitworth College. After his undergraduate work he served three years as an intern in the College Ministry at Faith Bible Church in Spokane, WA. He then attended The Master’s Seminary to pursue his Master of Divinity, which he received in 2007. In the same year, Joseph began teaching at Providence Classical Christian School in Lynnwood, WA where he taught for six years while serving as an elder at the church where his family attended.
Joseph began serving as a part-time pastor at GTBC in 2013. While serving GTBC, Joseph also worked as a teacher and administrator at a classical Christian school in Beaverton, OR, and as a Chaplain in the Navy Reserve for their first four years in Oregon.
In 2021, Joseph received his Doctor of Ministry from The Master’s Seminary. Outside of scripture, Joseph finds his greatest inspiration from John Owen, John Newton, and John Piper.
Joseph has been married to Julie since 2005, and God has blessed them with four boys, Isaiah, Daniel, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. He spends his free time reading, serving his family, and serving the church. He also enjoys drinking coffee, having purposeful conversations, and watching Oregon State Football.
